About CoffeeMed

A Medical Outreach Program

CoffeeMed is a mission-driven medical outreach program serving communities across Guatemala with limited access to healthcare. What began in coffee-growing regions has grown into something much greater and our commitment to serve wherever the need exists continues.

CoffeeMed was founded through a simple but powerful desire: to show up for people in their moments of need. We began our mission by serving coffee-growing communities, has now expanded into reaching other underserved regions, including coastal areas like Monterrico, where access to healthcare remains limited.

Today, CoffeeMed continues to grow guided not by geography, but by need. We have 26 communities waiting for our assistance!

Our Approach to Healthcare

We organize non-invasive medical clinics across Guatemala, working closely with local leaders, communities, and healthcare partners.

Our clinics focus on:

  • Primary medical care

  • Chronic condition management, including diabetes and high blood pressure

  • Treatment of common infections and illnesses

  • Health education and preventive care

  • Connection to local doctors for long-term treatment

What makes CoffeeMed different is that our work does not end when a clinic ends. We collaborate with local Guatemalan doctors who help provide follow-up care when needed, ensuring continuity and long-term impact.

In addition, we work with visiting medical teams from the U.S., supported by a trusted network of healthcare professionals who guide clinical care during each mission.

Partnerships That
Create Impact

CoffeeMed is built on strong, trusted partnerships.

We proudly collaborate with Belmont University, one of our key partners, whose students and faculty have played a vital role in delivering quality care and supporting our mission.

Alongside Belmont, we work with:

  • Universities

  • Medical programs

  • Volunteer teams

  • Local doctors and clinics

These partnerships allow us to create ethical, structured, and impactful medical experiences, while strengthening the local healthcare system and access.

A Walk of Faith, A Commitment to Serve

As the founder, sixteen years ago I made a simple decision: to take a walk of faith.

I looked at the life of Jesus and saw how He loved, served, grew tired, cried with people, and simply showed up for them. That example shaped my decision to walk with people in their moments of need and to be present, no matter how uncertain the path ahead.

Sixteen years later, that walk continues. By God’s grace, we have served more than 9,100 patients. We have walked with them, cried with them, trusted with them, laughed with them, and stood beside them through their journeys. At the heart of everything we do is a simple truth: we serve because we believe Jesus Christ came to love us and save us and we want others to experience that love.

This journey has not been easy. Many times, it has been frightening, and I have rarely had all the answers. But I knew one thing I could never stop walking.

Through COFFEEMED, we partner with universities and trusted organizations to bring medical teams directly to coffee plantation workers and their families people who often have limited access to healthcare. At the same time, we create special coffee blends that help fund essential medicines and medical care. In this way, every cup of coffee becomes part of a larger story of healing and hope.

Today, this mission continues to grow. While our roots are in coffee regions, we are now expanding into other areas where the need is just as urgent even in places that are not coffee-producing regions, such as Monterrico. The need is there, and we believe our calling is to go wherever help is needed.

COFFEEMED is more than a program. It is a testimony of faith in action.

Coffee is more than a beverage it is a bridge. A bridge that connects communities, restores dignity, and reminds us that transformation happens when compassion meets action.

Above all, we believe it is the human touch, the willingness to love, serve, and walk alongside others that makes the greatest difference. And so, we continue walking.

A Bridge to Human Connection

Coffee is more than a crop.
It represents labor, family, tradition, and resilience.

CoffeeMed exists to honor that human story by meeting people with care, respect, and long-term commitment.
